I recently had a reaction to someone else’s good news that cracked something open in me. Underneath the jealousy and shame was a harder truth: I am still defining part of my success by money. This is a reflection on what that brought up, why I think so much “don’t hustle” messaging misses the mark, and what it means to tell the truth about what we still want.
